MAY-O (THE BREXIT BOAT SONG)

Not as in Mayonnaise but as in Theresa May... Ma-a-ay O....

To the tune of The Banana Boat Song, by Harry Belafonte, with a nod towards the Eton Boating Song in acknowledgement of David Cameron, who was responsible for the whole Brexit mess. Words copyright Roger Hicks 2017. Please credit me, even if you just steal them. And if you record them and make lots of money... I'll be after you for royalties.

May-O!  Treesa Ma-a-ay-O!
Brexit come and you send us all home
May... Treesa May... Treesa Ma-a-ay O
Brexit come and you send us all home

Vote all day on the lies on a bus
Brexit come and you send us all home
Vote on the side of  the liars and racists
Brexit come and you send us all home

Come mister Brexit man, tally up the foreigners
Brexit come and you send us all home
Frenchman, German and Italian
Brexit come and you send us all home
Swedish man, Danish man, and the Latvian
Brexit come and you send us all home

May...  me say May... me say Ma-a-ay O
Brexit come and you send us all home

A ugly bunch of dim Brexiters
Brexit come and you send us all home
Can't hide the deadly Johnson bullshitter
Brexit come and you send us all home

Brexit come and you send us all home
Spanish man, Portuguese an' Croatian
Brexit come and you send us all home
Estonian, Maltese, Luxemburger
Brexit come and you send us all home

May... me say May... me say Ma-a-ay O
Brexit come and you send us all home
May... Treesa May... Treesa Ma-a-ay O
Brexit come and you send us all home

Come mister Brexit man, break up all the families
Brexit come and you send us all home
Polish, Latvian, Romanian
Brexit come and you send us all home
Dutchman, Greek man and Bulgarian
Brexit come and you send us all home

May... me say May... me say Ma-a-ay O
Brexit come and you send us all home
May... Treesa May... Treesa Ma-a-ay O
Brexit come and you send us all home

In trying to make the words fit the music I realized that part of the genius of The Banana Boat Song is that you can play around endlessly with the stresses and the length of the syllables. There seem to be several versions of the song. Adapt the above to suit yourself -- but even so, I'd like a little bit of credit. The important bit is to end Brexit, so share this as widely as possible.
